I am Sara Masetto, an Italian pianist based in Munich, Germany.
My work moves between piano performance, chamber music, opera, music education and eurythmy accompaniment. Through these different experiences, I have come to see music as something deeply connected to listening, movement, voice and human interaction.
My musical education began in Padua, Italy, where I studied Piano Performance at the Conservatorio C. Pollini while also completing a Bachelor's degree in Art and Music History at the University of Padua. I graduated with highest honors from both institutions.
I later continued my musical studies at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, specializing in collaborative piano and répétition, where I graduated with highest honors and honorary mention.
Alongside my studies, I developed a particular interest in working with other musicians and performers. My work as a répétiteur and vocal coach has brought me into opera productions and rehearsal processes, working closely with singers, conductors and stage directors. I have worked in Italy and internationally, including at the Royal Danish Theatre and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen.
Alongside my performance and collaborative work, I have been teaching piano to students of different ages and levels in Italy and Germany.
I have also worked as a pianist accompanying eurythmy classes in Waldorf schools, an experience that has deepened my interest in the relationship between music, movement and the body.
Today, these different experiences come together in my musical work. Piano remains at its centre, while the encounters with singers, musicians, students and performers continue to shape the way I listen to and understand music.
